A Pakistani passport needs a visa for Vietnam, and the e-visa issued online by Vietnam's Immigration Department is the straightforward way to get it. Pakistan is not on any of Vietnam's visa-exemption lists, so there is no short visa-free stay to fall back on. The e-visa covers up to 90 days in the country, as a single entry for USD 75 or a multiple entry for USD 100, and both prices with us are all-in.

Many Pakistani travellers to Vietnam live and work in the UAE or Saudi Arabia, and it is natural to wonder whether a Gulf residence permit changes the rules. It does not: Vietnam looks at the passport you travel on, so a Pakistani in Sharjah, Riyadh or Jeddah applies exactly as someone in Lahore would. Connections run through the Gulf, Bangkok or Kuala Lumpur to Hanoi or Ho Chi Minh City, and both airports accept the e-visa.

There is no visa on arrival to rely on. Vietnam's airport counters stamp only approval letters that a Vietnamese sponsor arranged beforehand, which is a longer road to the same result. For the e-visa you need two files: a clear image of your passport's photo page, with all four corners and both machine-readable lines visible, and a recent portrait on a plain white background with no glasses or hat. A ticket, hotel booking or bank statement is not part of the application.

Plan the dates with care. Vietnam counts the 90 days from the day the e-visa is issued, so the best moment to apply is two to three weeks before departure. The Immigration Department's official target is three working days; we promise three to five once your documents pass our check, and allow more around Tet in late January or February. Keep at least 6 months on your passport — the portal itself asks for only 30 days beyond the visa, but airlines may apply 6 months.

Questions Pakistani travellers ask

Do Pakistani citizens need a visa for Vietnam?

Yes. Pakistani passports are not visa-exempt for Vietnam. The standard route is the e-visa from Vietnam's Immigration Department, for stays of up to 90 days, single or multiple entry, and we file it for you after a person checks your documents.

Is there a visa on arrival for Pakistanis?

No genuine one. Vietnam's airport counters only stamp approval letters arranged in advance through a local sponsor. The e-visa is the official alternative and covers the same holiday.

Can I apply while living in the UAE?

Yes. Your country of residence does not matter; Vietnam decides by the passport you travel on. Pakistani residents of the UAE, Saudi Arabia or elsewhere use the same e-visa and the same two documents.

How long does the Vietnam e-visa take?

Officially three working days. We promise three to five, counted from when your documents pass our check, and allow extra time around Tet. Apply two to three weeks before travel, as the 90 days start on the issue date.
