Egyptian passport holders need a visa in advance to enter Vietnam. Apply online below.

Vietnam requires a visa from Egyptian passport holders, and the e-visa covers almost every holiday or family visit. Egypt has no exemption agreement with Vietnam, but since 2023 the e-visa has been open to citizens of all countries and territories, so applying is no harder for an Egyptian than for anyone else. It is issued online by Vietnam's Immigration Department and allows up to 90 days, single entry at USD 75 or multiple entry at USD 100, all-in.
Many Egyptians thinking about Vietnam live in the Gulf — in Dubai, Riyadh, Kuwait or Doha — and a common question is whether that residence changes anything. It does not. Vietnam looks only at the passport you present, so an Egyptian living in Abu Dhabi applies exactly as one living in Cairo, with the same documents, the same price and the same processing time. A residence permit neither helps nor hinders the application.
The application itself asks for very little: an image of your passport's data page, complete with all four corners and the machine-readable lines, and a recent portrait on a white background without glasses. No bank statement, ticket or hotel booking is uploaded. We ask the trip questions the portal needs — the airport or border crossing you will use to enter and to leave, your exit date and where you will stay — and someone checks every answer before filing.
Do not count on a visa on arrival; Vietnam has no genuine one, only sponsor letters stamped at the airport. Do not apply months ahead either, since the 90 days run from the issue date: two to three weeks before travel is right. Processing is officially three working days and we promise three to five, longer around Tet in late January or February. A passport with 6 months of validity avoids trouble at the airline counter.

Yes. There is no visa exemption for Egyptian passports. Apply for the e-visa, which Vietnam's Immigration Department issues online for up to 90 days; we file it for you after checking your documents.
Yes. Vietnam goes by your passport, not your residence, so Egyptians in the Gulf apply the same way as those in Egypt, with the same two documents.
Two: your passport's data page and a recent portrait on a white background, no glasses. Nothing else is uploaded for a tourist e-visa.
Not a real one. The airport only stamps approval letters that a Vietnamese sponsor obtained in advance. The e-visa is the official way to arrive with your visa already in hand.
