Common questions

Do I need a visa for Vietnam?

Most passports do, including Indian, Pakistani, Bangladeshi, Egyptian, Nigerian, every GCC passport, American, Australian and Canadian. Citizens of 24 countries, among them the UK, Germany, France, Japan and South Korea, get 45 days visa-free; ASEAN citizens get 14 to 30 days. Is a Vietnam e-visa valid at every airport and border?

At the gates on the Government's e-visa list: every international airport and the listed land crossings and seaports. You choose your entry and exit gates when you apply and must use gates on the list.

Can I get a visa on arrival in Vietnam instead?

Not without arranging it first. What agents call a visa on arrival is a sponsor's approval letter obtained in advance and stamped at the airport. The e-visa is the official route and covers the same trips, so that is what we file.
