Vietnam Visa for Saudi Citizens

Saudi passport holders need a visa in advance to enter Vietnam. Apply online below.

Requirements last checked: .

Saudi passport holders cannot enter mainland Vietnam without a visa, so the e-visa is the document to arrange. There is no exemption for Saudi citizens, and no true visa on arrival either — the airport counters only stamp letters a sponsor obtained in advance. The e-visa, issued online by Vietnam's Immigration Department, is open to every nationality and allows up to 90 days in the country. We file single-entry e-visas for USD 75 and multiple-entry ones for USD 100, all-in.

If the whole family is travelling, the application works the same way for each member who holds a passport of their own. Each person needs just two documents: the passport photo page, scanned whole with the machine-readable lines clear, and a recent portrait on a white background. Children under 14 who are entered in a parent's passport, rather than holding their own, are added to that parent's e-visa instead of applying separately. A member of our team checks every file before it is filed.

If the plan is a beach week on Phú Quốc and nothing else, you may not need a visa at all. Vietnam lets visitors stay on the island for up to 30 days visa-free when they arrive there directly from another country, or change planes at a Vietnamese airport without leaving the transit area. Nothing flies to Phú Quốc direct from Saudi Arabia, but flights from Bangkok, Kuala Lumpur and Singapore do. Step onto the mainland, though, and the exemption no longer covers you.

The e-visa's clock starts on the day it is issued, not when you land, so its 90 days can run down while you are still at home if you apply too early. Two to three weeks before departure is the right moment. Vietnam's official processing time is three working days; we promise three to five after our own check, and add time around Tet in late January or February. Make sure the passport has 6 months of validity left.

Questions Saudi travellers ask

Do Saudi citizens need a visa for Vietnam?

Yes, unless the trip is Phú Quốc only and you arrive on the island directly from abroad or through airside transit. Otherwise Saudi passports have no exemption, and the e-visa is the normal route: up to 90 days, single or multiple entry, filed by us after a human check.

Is there a visa on arrival for Saudis?

No. Vietnam does not issue visas at the airport without prior approval; the counters only stamp sponsor letters arranged in advance. Apply for the e-visa before you fly instead.

How long does the e-visa take to arrive?

Three working days officially. We promise three to five from the moment your documents pass our check, and longer around Tet. Since the 90 days start on the issue date, apply two to three weeks before travel.

Do I need a visa for a Phú Quốc-only holiday?

No, if you arrive on the island directly from abroad and stay no more than 30 days. Leaving Phú Quốc for the mainland needs a visa, so for a two-centre trip apply for the e-visa first.
