Vietnam Visa for Nigerian Citizens

Nigerian passport holders need a visa in advance to enter Vietnam. Apply online below.

Nigerian citizens need a visa for Vietnam, and they can apply online for the e-visa just like any other nationality. Since August 2023 Vietnam's Immigration Department has issued the e-visa to citizens of all countries and territories, so there is no separate embassy route to worry about for a tourist trip. The visa covers a stay of up to 90 days, as a single entry at USD 75 or a multiple entry at USD 100, all-in.

The quality of your two uploads matters more than anything else. The portal reads your passport scan by machine and refuses an image without the two machine-readable lines, so the data page should be photographed flat, in good light, with all four corners in view and no glare across the text. The portrait must be recent, face-on, against a white background, with no glasses and no hat, and the portal compares it with the passport photo automatically.

That is why every Nigerian application we take is looked at by a person before it is filed. We check that the scan is sharp, that the portrait meets the rules and that the details match the passport exactly; if something needs redoing, we tell you before anything is filed. We also collect the trip details the portal asks for: your entry and exit gate, your exit date and an address in Vietnam. Nigerians living in Dubai or elsewhere in the Gulf apply the same way.

Processing is officially three working days. Our promise is three to five, and the clock starts when your documents pass our check, so clean scans save time. Around Tet, in late January or February, expect longer. The 90 days begin on the day the visa is issued, which makes two to three weeks before travel the right time to apply — and there is no real visa on arrival to fall back on if you leave it late.

Questions Nigerian travellers ask

Do Nigerian citizens need a visa for Vietnam?

Yes. Nigeria has no visa exemption with Vietnam. The e-visa, open to every nationality and valid for up to 90 days, is the route for tourism and family visits, and we file it for you.

Is there a visa on arrival for Nigerians?

No genuine one. Vietnam's airport counters only stamp approval letters that a sponsor obtained in advance. Apply for the e-visa before you travel.

Can I apply from the UAE?

Yes. Your residence does not matter; Vietnam goes by passport. Nigerians in the UAE or anywhere else use the same application and the same two documents.

How long does it take?

Three working days officially, three to five with us, counted from when your documents pass our check. Around Tet it takes longer, so apply two to three weeks before your trip.
