🇳🇬 Nigeria
Nigerian passport holders need a pre-arranged visa to enter the UAE.
Requirements last checked: . A Dubai visa is a UAE visa — it is valid for all seven emirates.
Nigeria's relationship with Dubai runs through its markets as much as its boardrooms — traders sourcing goods for Lagos and Abuja markets, businesspeople attending meetings, and patients travelling for medical care. Whatever the reason for your trip, the entry requirement is fixed: a Nigerian ordinary passport needs a visa arranged before you fly, since Nigeria isn't on the UAE's visa-free list, and that holds regardless of how many times you've travelled before.
A good number of the Nigerian applications we handle come in from a phone on a connection that isn't always steady — so the upload only needs to happen once: if a file doesn't come through clearly, we flag which one rather than making you restart the whole form. None of that changes what happens at the airport — the visa has to be approved before you check in at Lagos or Abuja, because airline staff will ask to see it before they'll process your boarding pass.
UAE immigration sometimes asks for additional documents for this nationality — we tell you before you pay, and you can check with us on WhatsApp first. We flag that upfront rather than midway through your booking, because it's a request we see often enough for Nigerian applicants that we'd rather you know about it before you commit to a travel date.
One of the more common things we catch on Nigerian files is an outdated photo — one still saved from years back that no longer looks like the person travelling now. Caught early, it's a five-minute fix: retake it against a plain wall and resend it. Caught late, once your travel dates are already locked in, it can be the difference between a boarding pass printed on time and one that isn't. We check the photo before anything is submitted, which is why a person looks at every Nigerian file, not a script.
