Dubai (UAE) Visa for Egyptian Citizens

Egyptian passport holders need a pre-arranged visa to enter the UAE.

Requirements last checked: . A Dubai visa is a UAE visa — it is valid for all seven emirates.

Cairo and Dubai sit close enough that many Egyptian families split their lives between the two cities — relatives working in Dubai, children studying there, or simply family visiting back and forth through the year. Professionals travelling for meetings, and travellers using Dubai as a stopover before continuing elsewhere in the region, add to that traffic. Close as the two countries are, the entry rule doesn't bend for proximity: an Egyptian ordinary passport needs a visa arranged before you fly, because Egypt isn't on the UAE's visa-free list.

A good share of Egyptian applications land with us for two or three family members at once — a couple travelling with children, or siblings booking a trip together. Each traveller applies with their own form — message us on WhatsApp if you are applying for a family and want a hand keeping the details straight. Whoever's travelling, the visa still needs to be approved before you check in at Cairo, Alexandria or Hurghada, since that's what airline staff check before printing a boarding pass.

Some of our Egyptian applicants aren't heading to Dubai as the destination at all — they're breaking a longer flight to Asia or East Africa with a few days in the city before continuing on, while others fly in for a full week to see family or explore properly. How long you're stopping is what decides which visa fits: a 48- or 96-hour transit visa covers a short stopover, while the 30-day tourist visa covers a proper holiday — our transit-vs-tourist guide walks through which one matches your plans.

The thing we flag most often on Egyptian files is a name that doesn't quite match — a middle name left off the form, or the order swapped from how it's printed on the passport page. It sounds minor, but it's enough to pause an application, and close to your travel date that can cost you a hotel night you've already paid for and can't get back. We check the name against the passport scan on every file before submission to catch that kind of thing early, while there's still time to fix it.

Typically 2–4 working days once your documents pass our check, whether you're flying from Cairo, Alexandria or Hurghada.

Can I apply from Cairo or Alexandria?

Yes — the whole process is online regardless of where in Egypt you're based; there's no need to visit an embassy.

Do I need a return ticket to apply?

Not to apply with us, but immigration may ask for proof of onward travel at Dubai airport, so book it before you fly.
